Motorcyclists Donating Time to Raise Money for Charity

It seems like the vast majority of motorcycle news coverage is negative. You’ll most often see stories about the dangers of motorcycling, feeding into the stigma of motorcyclists as reckless, irresponsible thrill-seekers. But, this definitely doesn’t give motorcyclists a fair representation, and in fact, they do a lot of good in the central Florida community.

A great resource for the biker and motorcycle community is CycleFish. This website chronicles all the motorcycle events around the country to help bring people together. And, a great number of events are rides for benefits and charities. In fact, there are 8 different rides for charity in October and 7 in November. These are great opportunities for biking enthusiasts to gather together and give their time to promote and raise money for worthy causes.

For example, the Flagler County Drug Court Federation is putting on a “Fall Ride for Recovery” on October 6th. It will be escorted by the Flagler County Sheriff, and all the proceeds will go to those recovering from substance abuse issues. Also that same day is the Access Ride 4 Autism, which will benefit the Access Charter School. This school educates middle and high schoolers with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Or, you can show your appreciation for the Brevard County first responders at the 6th Annual Never-Forget ride.
